Centered in the City was born out of a desire to provide intentional space for urban professionals to pause during their week, take a moment to gain self-awareness, and connect with other like-minded people.
Wade Brill and Kellye Kuh founded Centered in the City after graduating from the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching. At the time, Kellye was working in the corporate world at Microsoft and Amazon while Wade was teaching Pilates and meditation to professionals. Wade and Kellye both recognized this burning desire in young professionals to engage in a space outside of their jobs, bars or typical social circles where they could learn about themselves on a meaningful level yet find community. Centered in the City is not your typical Meetup. We hold unconventional and interactive workshops where you get to learn practical tools and tips of how to manage your life. We get it. Life can feel busy, complicated and congested, but when you take a mindful-moment to dive inwards and connect, you are than able to live a more intentional life as you navigate the city.
Kellye left Texas five years ago to become a Capitol Hill resident and is proud to call the northwest home. She is a certified life coach, psychology and theology graduate student, spiritual leader and teacher, community connector, and accidental entrepreneur. She wakes up with the desire to inspire others to create spiritual connections with themselves, God, and the world around them, and thrives at helping people step into the ugliest places and come out more energized, centered, and connected. Kellye is a creative, minimalist, Christian mystic, and fat activist with grandmother tendencies, horrible dad jokes, and a love for the creative, including collage, poetry, and noise music.
Kellye recently left her corporate career in technology (Microsoft, Amazon) to pursue new ventures to help others stay centered and soul-driven. She co-founded and coaches at Work with Soul, a virtual coaching program and event immersion focused on helping others feel soul-fulfilled in their work; promotes spirit-body and body diversity through Body Love, a program to help women fall in love with their bodies; and is honored to lead and coach at Centered in the City after finding her “center” in her own life.
Wade is a certified Life coach, Pilates instructor and mindfulness-based meditation practitioner. Wade survived cancer at the age of twenty-one years old and turned her life experiences into nuggets of wisdom. Life is short and that is why Wade is passionate about helping others take care of themselves from the inside out. Wade began her private coaching practice in 2013 and works mostly with Millennial women who want to make themselves a priority in their life. She is enthusiastic about helping people wake up to think about what they feed themselves, how they treat themselves, the way they move their body and the dreams they want to create.
Wade was born and raised in Manhattan, lived and operated her own Pilates and Meditation business in Buenos Aires, Argentina and now currently resides in Seattle.
Wade is a foodie at heart with a passion for fitness, adventures, traveling, and cooking . She can be spotted at local coffee shops writing up a storm, exploring grocery stores finding the best of the best, on adventures with her partner, power-walking through the city (since she can’t drive), teaching Pilates, leading workshops for Centered in the City and enjoying the little moments in life.
