Skillfully Being with Our Thoughts

Skillfully Being with Our Thoughts

In this 5 minute meditation, noticing and naming the types of thought patterns that arise while meditating is a skillful way to get to know the autopilot habits of the mind so that you can eventually create some space and a different way of relating to thoughts. If you are like most people, including myself, you might see how judgy, harsh, critical, controlling, fearful, delusional etc the thoughts in our mind can be. When we practice mindfulness, we are welcoming the mental attitudes of curiosity, kindness and acceptance into our practice. It is like learning to change the radio channel frequency just slightly to welcome in a different way of relating to life.
